Assists in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures and data replication to ensure access to, and integrity of data sets. Writes database schemas and implements schemas, creates database application programming interfaces (APIs) to support data ingest and data extraction, and implements APIs in robust software in ANSI C or C++. . Researches, coordinates and installs software releases and database integration to ensure that client specifications and guidelines are met. Evaluates reusability of current data for additional analysis, while maintaining integrity and confidentiality of information. Identifies, collects, analyzes, writes and implements both system and software requirements. Plans, creates, writes computer programs and or databases to support technical functions, and works with scientific applications. Utilizes core processes consistently to ensure that service impacts, including, but not exclusive to problem ticketing, change management, etc. are minimal or non-existent. Provides data consulting in support of business and information technology initiatives to clients to improve client database systems. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred Seven or more years of experience in data analysis or computer programming Experience working with industry standards, regulations and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems Experience working with company hardware and software products to make sound financial recommendations Experience working with information security practices and available security software packages Experience working with domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures Experience working with relational databases Other Qualifications Good personal computer and business solutions software skills Good communication skills to communicate with customers, team members, external data providers and management Good skills in data administration, design and architecture Experience, knowledge, and ability with large databases (Informix, Oracle, PostgreSQL or similar) including data modeling, writing database schema, implementing schema into efficient and reliable database, creating database application programming interfaces (API) to support data ingest and data extraction, implementing APIs in robust software in ANSI C or C++, monitoring and improving database performance, detecting and correcting database problems related to application, database stability and automate database maintenance Extensive knowledge and experience in UNIX AND LINUX, C or C++, and data storage and retrieval. At least two years of ANSI C or C++ programming experience in the last three years. Experience in C programming with UNIX AND LINUX system calls, socket-level network programming, POSIX (standard, real-time, and threads) API.Security Clearance at minimum the Secret level with SSBI "Information Assurance Training or Certification to comply with DoD 8570.1 requires Certifications in either A+ or Network+ and SCCP.
