Data Analyst, Revenue Cycle and Self Pay Compass

 

In 2004, the Advisory Board launched a new program to assist Chief Financial Officers in measuring, analyzing and comparing their organization’s performance across the revenue cycle. The program, called Revenue Cycle Compass, provides members with continuous real-time business intelligence on the drivers of revenue cycle performance, comparative benchmarks, and supporting best practices research. The combination of services enhances a member institution's ability to surface problems, make faster decisions and drive financial accountability across the organization.

 

The group currently seeks a Data Analyst.  Specific job responsibilities include the following:

 

· Establish strong working relationships with key contacts at member hospitals

· Provide analytical support to the team

· Assist member hospitals by translating business needs into advanced logic

· Oversee and guide the team through advanced logic implementation

· Conduct data mining and complex multiple variable analysis

· Extract, analyze, and display data to support problem identification

· Identify the root cause of complex issues and see them through to resolution with minimal oversight

· Perform QA functions to ensure accuracy of report data

· Proactively identify issues and trends through data analysis and manipulation

 

 

The ideal candidate possesses the following attributes:

 

· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science or Engineering

· 1-3 years work experience

· Strong organization and time management capacity to balance multiple project priorities with limited supervision

· Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking skills, and strong attention to detail

· Healthcare experience a plus but not required

· Excellent computer skills, including Access and Excel, and familiarity with data mining tools

· Relationship management expertise

· Team-oriented but also highly self-sufficient and self-motivated

· SQL experience preferred, but not required
