DB2 Database Administrator

Paradigm Solutions is currently seeking a DB2 DBA with a minimum of 7 years of DBA experience and 5 years specifically in a DB2 environment.  This candidate will work with the physical database design, define application databases and provide support to our government customer. Candidate will assist in performing database installation, database recovery, scheduling and performing upgrades to the databases. Candidates will manage database elements, including schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and triggers. Candidate will conduct performance analysis on application SQL code and assist in troubleshooting by providing solutions or directions that are consistent and effective.  Candidate must possess the experience and skill level necessary to function as a Senior DBA in our customer’s environment. Strong SQL, DB2, OS/390 mainframe system experience required. Candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment.  This is a full time position and will be located in Landover, Maryland.  Some travel to the Headquarters in Washington, DC will be required.  Candidates seeking full time employment, in addition to contractor will be consideration.  No consideration will be given to candidates seeking Corp-to-Corp agreements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 7 years of relevant DBA experience; 5 years as a DB2 DBA Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 Production Database SupportMicrosoft Window Server 2000/2003, Microsoft Office 2003Strong OS/390 ExperienceDisaster Recovery Experience Network Administration ExperienceHigh level of initiative and self-confidence along with strong verbal and written communication skills is important.A bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent Must be a U.S. Citizen (agency background check required)
