We are looking for a Website Environment Engineer to focus on the day to day operations of new and existing website functionality. As a member of the team, you will have the chance to work on unique and innovative solutions on a highly scalable eCommerce platform. This position is responsible for maintain the integrity of existing and new development and production environments. This position will partner with the development teams to ensure that all functionality is met from the business requirements. The online channel is a key focus area for the company and is growing at an aggressive rate, creating an exciting workplace and utilizing your skills to their potential.Qualifications· Responsible for insuring the high availability of web platforms. · Partner with the developers, architects and other team members to merge code streams and trouble shoot issues· Manage day to day administration of Linux Servers· Upgrade/deployment of development environment tools such as JBOSS and Tomcat· Create and execute release management plans and techniques· Continuously suggest new automated tools and ways to decrease deployment activities· Portion of responsibilities to include basic database administration (MySQL) functions including duties such as performance tuning, capacity planning and expansion suggestions as required. · Understand business requirements to ensure deliverables are met · Sense of urgency to communicate issues impacting code release· Act as one of the final decision makers on environment stability and readiness for production use. · Involvement with technology forums and industry user groups· Create ad-hoc database queries and reports. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Bachelor of Science/Arts is Computer Science or related field2. 3-5 years of Linux/Unix Administration. 3. Hands-on JBOSS and Tomcat administration experience. 4. Strong understanding of web technologies and open source development environments5. Past experience with Linux/Unix scripting such as K-Shell, Awk and SED. 6. Experience with MySQL and other relational database queries a plus. 7. Experience with SQL queries and ad-hoc query development. 8. Ability to utilize code repository and sourcing tools including CVS. 9. Strong understanding of web technologies and code sourcing tools including ANT and Hudson/Cruise Control10. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment11.
