Alliant Techsystems (ATK) Tactical Propulsion and Controls Systems has a fabulous & challenging opportunity for aStaff Senior Engineerin Elkton, Maryland. This Division ofATK specializes in the production of Tactical Propulsionand ControlSystems. As Staff Senior Engineer thesuccessful candidate will serve as a resource that leads, assists, and/or provides independent review of complex technical issues related to the design, manufacture, ground testing, and flight testing of aerospace propulsion systems. Candidate should possess strong solid propellant rocket motor systems, design, and/or analytical skills and experience across the range of project life cycles from concept, development, production, delivery and customer integration, and demilitarization. Candidate will prepare and/or evaluate technical plans, concept designs to meet contract requirements and manage risks, participate in in-house and customer review panels as senior independent representative. Candidate will be called upon to organize and lead multi-discipline technical team in response to critical design, production or test failures, along with participating as a member of Engineering leadership in evaluating and upgrading engineering processes, effectiveness and efficiency improvements.Candidate Requirements: BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering disciplinesand 18 years of experience. Applicable experience as a systems engineer, design engineer, analytical engineer, and/or test engineer in aerospace propulsion products. Preference is for a cross functional background. Technical Skills: Demonstrated problem solving, design skills, systems engineering skills, analytical skills (structural mechanics and/or thermal sciences). Personality competencies include strong work ethic, ethics, analytical, detail oriented and poise.
