Certification and Accreditation Specialist

Endeavor Systems, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced mid-level Certification and Accreditation Specialist in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. The successful candidate will be a customer-focused information security professional with basic project management experience who can work both independently and as a role player on a team of talented security consultants in a dynamic environment. The position is for full-time employment on a long-term contract at a Federal agency.  


Job Responsibilities:Support the analysis and review of information security programs and systems to ensure compliance to Federal’s agency policies. Provide Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and OMB matter expertise. Support goals defined in the Federal Agency Strategic Plan, Business Plan and Information Security Strategic Plan. Identifies areas of improvement in agency’s overall security posture by revealing ineffective security controls and ISS vulnerabilities throughout the agency. Creates consistent security implementation approaches throughout the agency. Provide guidance on security threats, technology, standards, and practices being applied in other government and commercial enterprises in order to evolve the client’s information security program to adapt to changing threats and technology advances. Provide project management support by establishing goals, assigning tasks and deadlines for the team, and provide cost and scheduling reporting support.  


The ideal candidate will likely meet the following requirements:A Bachelor of Science degree and 4 or more years of experience in a position relevant to information security consulting. Working knowledge of system and network security engineering best practices and government compliance with NIST (FISMA) and OMB guidance. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a dynamic, creative personality. Must be a customer service-oriented team player eager to assist colleagues and handle changing priorities and multiple tasks. Must be energetic and possess interpersonal skills  


Additional Preferences:CISSP preferred. Current security clearance preferred, must be willing and able to be cleared.
