COMM - Data Modeler This position is in support of the Workflow or Financial Metrics segments of the overall project. Functionality to be developed and introduced for the Workflow segment consists of: data entry, workflow configuration, data warehouse, and integration to all legacy applications. The functionality to be developed for the Financial Metrics project includes a physical data warehouse data model, a metadata repository, data collection, transformation and load processes. Position Description: The Data Modeler will analyze business requirements to develop logical and physical data models for specified applications. The physical data model is targeted for a DB2 database. The candidate will work with the application development team to perform data analysis in reviewing business requirements and identifying data sources, creating the data model and database structures. Responsibilities will include ensuring that standards and best practices used in database development are followed and maintained. Essential Skills Required:• Conceptual and practical utilization of data modeling• Excellent analytical skills • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills • Great interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities • Good writing skills, attention to detail and organizational skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, AccessNote: Must have a minimum of 4 years experience. Nonessential Skills Desired:While not mandatory, the following are desirable: • Familiarity with Unix-based servers• Experience with IBM DB2• Experience with Rational Data Architect • Demonstrated understanding of enterprise architecture modeling concepts• Strong decision making skills • Team building skills • Successfully completed at least one financial services engagement within the last five years having comparable requirements to this project.
