COGNOS Business Intelligence System Programmer
The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:
-Design and create reporting cubes for ad hoc analysis -Design, develop, and support of the overall Cognos Framework report model -Design and develop Business Intelligence report solutions to meet the needs of the business users.
-Develop and support business intelligence solutions using SQL, BI tools, .NET, C#, ASP.NET, C, SQL, F9 and Crystal using established software development processes -Collaborate with Data Architect / DBA to optimize the Star-schema models for Cognos reporting tools (PowerPlay and ReportNet).
-Write project specifications that incorporates business rules, functional requirements, and relevant use cases.
-Verify correctness and completeness of data model, data relationships, mappings, and definition.
-Identify opportunities to optimize performance of existing data structures and improvement of overall query and report responses.
-Design and implement data quality and data auditing processes.
-Develop and maintain technical documentation.
-Participate in impact assessments and provide effort estimates for enhancements and projects in the existing Cognos BI system.
