Business Continuity Planning Lead

General Job Function:Develops and leads business continuity, incident response, and safety programs, so that the organization can prevent, respond to and recover from disaster situations in the most efficient and timely manner.  Identify points of process or technology vulnerability and develop disaster avoidance and reduction strategies.  Perform periodic testing of the plans to ensure usability and performance of staff.  Communicate with outside vendors that would provide critical support services during a disaster situation.  Reports to the Chief Security Officer.  Requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in business continuity or disaster recovery planning with CBCP, CBRM or similar certification.  Management responsibility experience preferred.Essential Duties and Responsibilities~40% Manages the business continuity program in order to prevent, respond to and recover from disaster situations. Identification of possible disaster scenarios and potential effects Identification of critical processes and Recovery Time Objectives Creation and periodic testing of business continuity plans ~30% Manages the development and implementation of incident management strategies and plans that can respond to significant events that cannot be prevented.~20% Manages activities of staff (i.e. hires, trains, coaches, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as necessary)~10% Oversees management of Safety and Emergency Conditions Team operations

Job Requirements:
Work Experience and EducationRequires a minimum of 6 years of experience in business continuity or disaster recovery planning with CBCP, CBRM or similar certification.  Management responsibility experience preferred.  Bachelor's degree in business, technology or marketing; advanced degree desirable. Specialized Knowledge and SkillsExcellent knowledge of company's business procedures and objectives. Resolve issues and contribute to team development. Manage the work efforts of individual contributors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews. Broad knowledge of the field with leadership skills.  Excellent knowledge of risk assessment, risk profiling, and risk assurance. Good organizational, leadership, decision-making, human relations, and communications skills. Strong analytical skills.
