Job Category:Business Process Primary Location:USA-IL: ILLINOIS-CHICAGOSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Standard Employee Status:Regular Yes, 50 % of the Time Job Posting: 2008-08-07Description: CSC is recruiting for several Business Analysts to work on customer implementations and to provide sales support for CSC's nbAccelerator. Ideal candidate will have been a life insurance underwriter for at least 2 years and have worked in or managed life & annuity new business for at least 6 years. Health insurance experience is a plus. Candidate must have strong life and annuity insurance and insurance product knowledge and have experience working with technology supporting life/annuity systems. Candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills and must be able to communicate easily with all levels of management and staff, internally and with customers. Essential Job Functions Plans and designs complex business processes and system modifications. Makes recommendations to improve and support business activities. Gathers business requirements through a variety of techniques such as work sessions and interviews. Analyzes and documents client complex business requirements and processes; communicates these requirements to appropriate parties. Creates complex test case scenarios to be used in testing; monitors/oversees the testing of business applications to verify that all client requirements are incorporated into the system design. Provides input into developing and modifying systems to meet client needs. Develops business specifications to support these modifications. Coordinates and facilitates meetings with clients to gather and document requirements and explore potential solutions. Coordinates business analyst tasks on information technology projects and provides project team member guidance and support. May plan, allocate and monitor work of other business analysts. Participates in technical reviews and inspections to verify 'intent of change' is carried through the entire project. Provides time estimates for project related tasks. Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, or related field preferred Seven or more years of business analysis experience Experience working with the interface of information technology with functional groups within an organization Experience working with business processes and re-engineering Experience working with computer programming concepts and basic language Other Qualifications Six or more years of new business life insurance experience preferredTwo or more years of new business life insurance underwriting experience preferredExperience managing new business life insurance a plusStrong interpersonal skills to build and manage good working relationships with all levels of customer management and staff, internal management, other business unit teams and nbA project team members Ability to actively promote the company's products and sales and to develop and encourage future business opportunitiesStrong communication and presentation skills; excellent negotiation skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent decision-making skills Ability to lead, coordinate and oversee team/project members Good personal computer and business solutions software skills Ability to work independently with little training or coaching as well as in a team environment; good time management skillsWillingness to travel 30-50% (typical is 30%) Note: Candidate can be located anywhere, but preferred location is Dallas Texas, Austin Texas or Columbia South Carolina.
