Successful candidates will perform biometrics-based system and software engineering development and maintenance in the functional areas of iris scanning, facial imaging, finger printing, and image acquisition, processing, storage, retrieval, and validation. Subject matter experts should possess and provide expertise, experience, leadership, and technology support in biometrics modalities, algorithms, and techniques using proven biometrics imaging collection systems and validation products. Operational and/or relevant experience is optimum. Essential Job Functions Oversees and facilitates scientific data acquisition, processing and analysis. Serves as a technical expert in understanding and eliminating routine failure modes and deficiencies to enhance product capabilities. Assists in proof of concept testing and data analysis. Generates proof of concept and test result reports to document product development and engineering technology progress. Researches routine aspects of product and technology innovation, product development, and product enhancements to assist research and development personnel. Provides patent information to protect intellectual property and to create first-to-market opportunities. Develops and maintains appropriate documentation Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, chemistry, biology computer science, or related field preferred Six or more years of experience in application and/or engineering technology development Experience working with application development and engineering principles and practices Experience working with company products and offerings Experience working with the technology industry Experience working with mathematical, physical, chemical or biological principles Core Qualifications Experience with the following: Biometrics research and development, algorithms, modalities, software, standards, systems, techniques, authentication and validation, data fusion and correlation, enrollment, recognition, reconstruction, and spoof detection Biometrics force protection, forensic science, fraud prevention, homeland protection, homomorphic filtering, identify management, image acquisition and registration, image matching, and information assurance Biometrics access control systems and biometrics mobile devices, mobile networking, and mobile data distribution Biometrics Standards Working Group and Biometrics Task Force Biometry, CAFIS, color correlograms, computer forensics, DoDAF, and eGates Facial imaging and facial scanning algorithms, software, and standards Fingerprinting imaging and fingerprinting scanning algorithms, software, and standards Iris imaging and iris facial scanning algorithms, software, and standards Statistical pattern recognition, IMFS, IMTM, TBCMS, TBIS, and wavelet algorithms Other Qualifications Knowledge of Biometric access control systems, software, systems and techniques Experience with facial imaging and scanning and knowledge of facial software and systems Knowledge of Fingerprinting software, systems, and standards Experience with iris scanning and imaging Creative thinking, analytical and problem solving skills Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to mentor and train less experienced specialists and other team members Personal computer and business solutions software skills Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Secret Create Success
