Associate Software Engineer

Job Description:



The Software Engineer, Systems has the ability to assess new technologies, perform engineering tasks in development and QA environments to ensure that a "GA - Generally Available" -ready product is available, and act as first tier Subject Matter Expert support in troubleshooting situations. The position's responsibilities include analysis, design, programming, unit and integration testing of new or existing products/systems.



The Software Engineer, Systems must have the ability to execute systems development projects with minimal technical direction, and be able to produce high quality, high performance software that meets company's software development standards.



Responsibilities:

* Demonstrates ability to work in a large and complex software environment.

* Demonstrates aptitude to learn complex software systems.

* Translates design into code following company standards for product quality and maintainability.

* Develops code derived from a design document using appropriate development standards.

* Develops repair code derived from a prioritized Program Trouble Report.

* Obtains peer review of the code.

* Performs unit testing of the code and performs integration level testing with other features or products in the system.

* Documents changes required for the deliverable product (manuals, release notes, etc.).

* Transmits the code to the appropriate system code branch.

* Provides complete, reliable, and prompt information to management.

* Develops and maintains knowledge of Lawson systems elements and products as well as current technologies in software development, computer systems and industry trends.

* Volunteers experience and expertise to help others.

* Works cooperatively and supportively within a programming team environment.

* Fosters effective working relationships with associates in other organization units.



Qualifications:

* Experience coding with an object oriented language such as C++, C#, or Java.

* A Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

* Strong verbal and written skills Basic problem solving, interviewing and fact finding skills

* Teamwork and organizational skills Self-motivation and discipline, ability to multi-task

* Experience working with Eclipse Development

* Experience with UI (User Interface Design)
