The Applications Component Manager is responsible for working directly with the Gartner team to manage contract status, budget tracking and resources for each application project. The Applications Component Manager will provide a monthly summary report and briefing on all contract status information to the client for all applications projects. The Applications Component Manager also oversees the time reporting process for all applications projects.The Applications Component Manager works closely with the client and 3rd party vendor leads to develop strategy and coordinate project activity and oversee all aspects of project execution from scope of work development and project initiation to implementation and system acceptance. The Applications Component Manager provides recommendations to client leads as to the deliverables, status, risks, issues, etc., for effective decision making.The Applications Component Manager provides key project information and escalates critical Program issues through the Gartner PM and DPMs to facilitate resolution and timely decision-making. Responsibilities include:- Oversee Gartner Program management activities for component projects- Facilitate development and execution of track strategy- Facilitate development of strategies for component projects- Work with client Project Team and 3rd party vendors to develop component project scopes of work- Oversee scope development process- Facilitate communication of contract status information between Gartner team and client project team; provide summary briefings on contract status, budget and resources to the client- Oversee time reporting process by 3rd party vendors as required- Participate in all project status meetings and design meetings as appropriate- Facilitate issue escalation to client leads and stakeholders- Facilitate weekly briefing with the client team- Facilitate weekly issues/status meetings with client and 3rd party vendors- Coordinate vendor contract oversight with Gartner team- Review all component project deliverables for applications projects- Develop/document analysis and recommendations for facility project issues as required- Facilitate briefings for client project team and stakeholders on key issues as requiredQualifications:Qualifications Specific experience working with public safety applications is required. Applications project management-experience with specific applications design, development implementation and integration experience including requirements definition, implementation strategy, implementation oversight, procurement planning and testing. - A specific knowledge of public safety applications including: Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Automated Vehicle Location (AVL), Mobile Data Systems (MDS), Message Switching Systems (MSS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS)- Requirements definition- Development of scopes of work and procurement documentation- General understanding of public safety applications trends and associated technologies- General understanding of public safety environments, operations and culture - Strong project management experience and knowledge of project management practices and methodologies- At least 5 years of "hands on" management consulting experience in conducting strategy level consulting projects- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Graduate level degree, preferably MPA, MBA, MS is preferred- Track record in project managing large strategy level consulting engagements- Strong project oversight/IV&V experience for large projects.- Knowledge of city government process and culture is highly desirable.Required Managerial/Interpersonal Skills: - Ability to analyze problems- Use judgement effectively- Make decisions- Excellent listening skills- Excellent writing skills- Excellent oral communication skills- Resourcefulness- Conflict resolution skills.Salary/Benefits: > $100,000Job Location: New York City, NYJob Number: RUSAGTNR228-612411Company URL: http://www.gartner.com/careers
