Allstate was founded in 1931 and became a publicly traded company in 1993. The APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER - SPECIALIST position is an entry-level role within Allstate Insurance. As an application developer - Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and understanding detailed technical requirements, developing application code, participating in code reviews and module testing, and supporting ongoing maintenance. The person in this position will support the UA (Universal Application), the underlying platform for an advanced web-based policy administration system. The UA is a large-scale software platform consisting off core technologies such as application server hosting, SQL generation, automated screen generation, proprietary compiler and interpreter, automated testing tools and an advanced AJAX client.   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Technical knowledge Required: C or C++ Additional. SQL, .NET, Java Good communication skills Willingness to learn new technologies Flexible and adaptable
