Job Code: HITS08081003 Description:Supervise general accounting group of four staff overseeing day to day responsibilities; prepare Monthly/Quarterly/Annual financial schedules, reporting and reconciliations of G/L accounts; records are reported in accordance with proper rules and regulations including GAAP, AICPA, PCAOB, FASB, DFAS, and SEC; use of PeopleSoft Financial system; work closely with program finance to ensure proper revenue recognition and deferred revenue; oversee proper Intercompany billing system expenses / invoicing / revaluation; accruals/prepayments/general journals; consolidation of subsidiaries/joint ventures per FIN 46; coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit process; various ad hoc reports and requests; update of internal control processes; assist in maintaining proper internal controls for SOX compliance;  work cross functionally with contracts, billing, fixed assets, A/P, payroll, benefits, and tax to ensure proper reporting; review cash application; business communications along with interaction with our Corporate office will be a significant component of this position; Training will require 50% travel to Palm Bay, FL through Jan. 2009; after this travel should be 5% or less. Qualifications: Bachelors in Accounting Experience managing department Knowledge and experience applying SOP 97-2, SOP 81-1, EITF 0021, and SAB 101; Analytical skills and experience in audits Solid experience in all aspects of accounting, own this department and its processes Ability to work to deadlines Public accounting experience is a plus Organizational skills, self-starter, solutions driven, positive attitude, and ability to multitask essential   Advanced Microsoft Excel / Word  Preferred Additional Skills:   Masters degree and CPA PeopleSoft Financial Systems experience  Microsoft PowerPoint By submitting your resume for this position, you understand and agree that Harris Corporation may share your resume, as well as any other related personal information or documentation you provide, with its subsidiaries and affiliated companies (including Harris Stratex Networks, Inc.) for the purpose of considering you for other available positions.
