Purpose: As a Sr. Technical Architect, you will provide technical vision and leadership for the improvement of business processes within Software Deployment, Source Code Management, and the application lifecycle within Target Corporation. You will drive strategic systems solutions with TTS development, engineering, and enterprise partners to enable continuous operational improvements in the software change management lifecycle. See Yourself: Defining, architecting, and driving technical solutions based on organizational needs Driving change on software change, build, and enterprise release tools and processes Consulting on complex projects and plays a lead technical role on critical projects, which may have cross-pyramid impact to provide project knowledge and expertise to TTS partners and clients Directing current system and platform analysis and leverages that information for design decisions Preparing recommendations for implementation of the systems solution within TTS Providing guidance for the development of technical project design and may prepare technical specifications as needed Applying a global approach to technical solutions within Deployment Services and across the TTS organization Understanding interrelationships and impacts of systems and applications upon the enterprise-wide technical environment Ensuring solutions are of high quality, high performance and scalable Creating and follows technical standards and best practices including repeatable processes and deliverables Developing strategic plans and providing technical leadership across multiple projects end to end Maintaining a current knowledge of the technology industry and determining the impact of hardware and/or software upgrades on new and existing applications Maintaining a current understanding of the retail industry and providing a technical vision for determining the impact of retail trends for TTS Evaluating vendor products and determining software purchases Conducting or overseeing proof-of-concept initiatives to prove out solutions Performing R&D as needed and developing standards for new technology Participating in project planning, estimating and costing Communicating project status to all interested parties and ensuring team is on track to satisfy client expectations Identifying and escalating issues and, when necessary, pulls appropriate teams together to resolve issues Prioritizing workload and accomplishing assignments on time, ensuring deliverables are high quality Preparing and conducting technical instruction and mentoring for TTS team members Completing all administration in a timely and quality manner Providing technical leadership in operations services and support Leadership in infrastructure strategic planning (POC planning, business and technology trends) Providing expertise in infrastructure hardware and software evaluation, selection and implementation Working with development teams as single point of contact to advise application technical architecture direction and design solutions that meet development and infrastructure requirements Demonstrating growing infrastructure technical breadth, financial and business knowledge. Maintains technical depth Leading team in resolution of large, complex production system issues Proactively identifying potential issues across multiple applications and BPOs and implementing solutions before business impact occurs Recommending projects or stability efforts to be completed across multiple applications and BPOs Setting architectural standards and assessing the feasibility of architectural changes across TTS Remaining current with technology trends, selects and prototypes new technologies Recommending solutions for exploiting new technologies or new features to existing technologies Effectively explaining technical solutions to TTS partners, business clients, and senior leadership Providing technical mentoring to othersJob Requirements:Minimum Requirements: Eight years experience in application development, specifically familiar with build and release management Experience with Source Code Management tools and processes Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to present to technical, non-technical, and senior management audiences Proven leadership capabilities, including interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and reasoning/analytical skills Good negotiation skills Good planning and organizational skills Self-starter who requires little supervision Works effectively with in a team Ability to works with confidential information Understands the retail business, technology and the application of technology to our businessDesired Requirements: Experience with Software Deployment tools and Technologies (e.g. Tivoli Software Distribution, Tivoli Provisioning Manager, Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), BladeLogic) Technical certifications Advanced degree, Masters or PhD.
