eCommerce Director

Under the direction of the VP Information Services the eCommerce Director is responsible for developing the eCommerce IS strategy and infrastructure platform working closely with the client areas and leading the eCommerce IS team.  In this role the incumbent can expect to work closely with the Vice President of Advertising, Merchandising, and Marketing and the Vice President of Office Operations (Order to Cash) in defining strategies, roadmaps, project priorities, milestones, and requirements.

The eCommerce Director will have both administrative and functional reports.  Administratively, resources such as business analysts will report to the eCommerce Director.  Functional reports will exist during the context of projects.  These functional reports will include technical resources who may report to this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  (Other duties may be assigned.)

•  Work closely with business leaders in Marketing, Office Operations and other areas of the business to develop an eCommerce evolution strategy and business/IS roadmap.
•  Work with Vice Presidents and Directors on the definition of projects, requirements, priorities and scope.
•  Manage and execute upon a portfolio of projects within budget and on-schedule.
•  Ensure project documentation is developed and maintained.  This includes, but is not limited to, function point analysis/project estimations, project plans, issues lists, risk registers, and impact analysis
•  Develop business requirements and functional specifications with the assistance of business analysts and/or project leaders, OR guide others to ensure these specifications are developed.
•  Formally report status to project sponsors and stakeholders on a regular basis.
•  Update business/IS roadmaps as needed.
•  Manage and develop direct reports as assigned.  .  
•  Execute performance evaluations of direct reports.
•  Subject matter expert for all business processes facilitated by the eCommerce applications.
•  Manage the analysis and selection of vended software products that support the eCommerce strategy

Qualifications:

•  BA/BS degree.
•  5 – 7 years of eCommerce PM experience.  4-5 years eCommerce management/leadership experience.
•  A proven functional eCommerce track record that covers product catalogs/content management, customer and prospective customer management, marketing initiatives, and the order-to-cash process.  
•  The ability to flourish in a fast paced environment populated by both the management of quick enhancements and longer-term projects.
•  Both a strategic and tactical skill-set:
•  Ability to lead the development of a strategy and approach to evolve our eCommerce platform.
•  Ability to structure mid-level and detailed-level project plans and to execute from those plans.
•  Demonstrated experience leading both ASP Classic/COM+ and .NET Framework projects.
•  A balance of business acumen, technical ability, and management skills.
•  Demonstrated experience with one or more structured software custom development or packaged software implementation methodology such as MSF and/or RUP.
•  Superior oral and written communication/presentation skills.
•  Ability to not only lead an enterprise-class IS project from vision to deployment, but also to execute detailed tasks such as the creation of a functional specification.
•  Expert business analysis skill-set.
•  Ability to form close partnerships with business executives and project sponsors; the ability to align technology with business objectives is paramount.
•  Strong skills in the following core competencies: teamwork/team participation, leadership, organization, multi-tasking, time management, problem solving, and process orientation.
•  Effective leadership and mentoring skills.
•  Effective project status reporting.
•  Expertise in MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, and Access
•  SAP CRM and ECC experience is preferred.
•  A consulting background is preferred.
•  SQL experience strongly preferred.
•  CASE tool experience preferred.
