Unix System Admin - SUSE/ClusteringDescription: Come to work for a leader in Semiconductor technology as a Unix System Administrator.Responsibilities include:• Primarily Day to day maintenance of engineering computational cluster in OR (solving problems, reviewing logs and statistics, running management reports). • Keeping compute cluster infrastructure up to date (upgrading hardware and software) for clusters in conjunction with other systems engineers. • Providing technical support to engineering for compute cluster problems. • Helping specify and develop compute cluster and monitoring improvements. • Analyzing data from the compute cluster (analytics data + log files) and making configuration changes to improve cluster performance. • Provide support and improvement of license infrastructure. • Provide and support a highly reliable and available service across design centers. • Improving visibility, monitoring and usage reporting of our license portfolio.This is estimated to be a 1 year assignment with potential for extension and regular employment. Assignments may be extended beyond and/or end prior to these estimated timeframes.Requirements: • At least 3 years UNIX / Linux admin experience particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE. • Good compute cluster administrator experience (preferably with Platform Computing LSF software). • Good customer service attitude along with comparable written and verbal communication skills. • Sound persistent and methodical troubleshooting and problem solving skills. • Firm skills in Windows and familiar with AD. • Good understanding of FlexLM license management. • General scripting ability, particularly Perl, Tcl, csh and bash shell scripts. • Basic DB skills (preferably MySQL and Oracle). • Familar with source code control. (preferably with Perforce and Bugzilla).
