UNIX Administrator w/Web Server Experience
Position Description: Provide 3rd level support of 1000+ Linux/AIX/Sun/HP servers in Data Center 24x7 Support the Operating System, Web Server (Apache, WebSphere) Apply patches, install software, manage file systems, monitor performance Troubleshoot alerts from monitoring system for system error conditions (system down, disk full, CPU busy, memory full etc.) Service tickets submitted by developers First line of support for web infrastructure support services and is responsible for 7x24 on-call rotation for web infrastructure support services Implements policies of system use and services Consumer facing on operational solutions and direction for projects using a variety of technologies and methodologies Assist with the reliability, extensibility, and maintainability of e-commerce hosting solutions based on the primary architecture of the solution Reports to Technical Lead Specialist or Technical Specialist for operational related issuesRequired Technical and Professional Skills: Experience supporting a network of at least 100 systems 24x7 High degree of industry and technical knowledge of e-commerce web infrastructure with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience within a UNIX operating environment In-depth experience with at least 2 UNIX operating systems (HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Linux) In-depth experience with at least 2 Volume Managers (Veritas, HP LVM, IBM LVM, SUSE LVM, Sun SDS) An understanding UNIX system installation and configuration, fundamentals of security, ability to use performance analysis to tune systems Experience automating tasks using a scripting language (ksh, Perl, shell) Experience with WebSphere, Apache and/or iPlanet Web Server support in a multiple server environment Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them Self starter, motivated, shows interest to learn, ability to adapt to new situations Strong customer relation skills in a meeting setting Customer interface experience (managing expectations; negotiating compromise solutions) Experience managing the escalation of cross-functional problems with multiple vendorsSkills Preferred: WebSphere support Data Center experience (change control; ticketing systems; coordinating with other support groups) SAN experience (EMC BCV, SRDF; Powerpath; DMP) HA ClustersNot all positions are posted externally - be sure to visit www.ciber.com/jobs to view more current CIBER career opportunities!!After reviewing your resume, if we feel your background is a match with our current opportunities a recruiter will contact you.
