The Position

Specific Deliverables associated with this opportunity include:

• Create Detailed Engineering Requirements Documents based on marketing requirements. Assist Program Managers in negotiate engineering response to marketing requirements resulting in focused plans for a new product, feature or enhancement.

• Work with Operations from the early stage of each development to take both manufacturing and service requirements into account in project plans.

• Assist in the sustaining of existing products in customer escalations. Interact with and understand customers and their needs.

• Work with management to ensure a robust platform and development process.

• Promote the re-use of components and designs between product lines and efficient use of engineering resources.

• Technology leader, develop technology roadmaps based on corporate goals, marketing roadmaps and technology and industry trends. Keep both a long term and short term view of new opportunities for our products.

The Requirements

This position is ideal for for a self motivated and skilled system engineer/scientist that have ample experience from full development cycles and the investigations and development of new technology. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

• PhD in physics or similar field preferred.
• 10+ years experience as a System Engineering is preferred in the design and manufacture of Capital Equipment.
• Semiconductor capital equipment experience is preferred.
• System design, integration, error budgeting, and analysis required. Must have demonstrated and documented ability in these areas.
• Ability to work in complex engineering programs and to understand the technology included in our products.
• Able to calculate system error budgets based on specifications.
• Proven experience in systems and sub systems developments and designs.
• Experience from several full product life cycles.
• Ability to analyze how key sub systems can be used in next generation products.
• Electron optics and modeling experience.
• Electron and ion source technology experience is a plus.
• MEMS experience is a plus.

Competencies

The successful candidate will possess the following competencies:

• Must have experience in the analysis of subsystems of complex systems.
• Mechanical ability and experience is desired.
• Experienced in working with vacuum systems is a plus.
• Be able to assist in System integration in team of engineers;
• Experience with quality management and development process.
• Able to use software tools in analyzing, simulate and present results.
• Experienced from working with system components such as vacuum, SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), FIB (Focused Ion Beam), high precision stage, gas delivery systems, high voltage and vibration isolation systems.For quick consideration
