Systems Integration Engineer

Location: Westerly, RI

Overview: Basic Purpose
Defines and documents hardware configurations; identifies, validates, and documents commercial off the shelf makes, models, and components; identifies, procures, validates and documents replacement components, creates system images for Production and Production Work Instructions.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that system is ready to go to Production:
Defines and documents hardware configurations: number of computers, their relation to each other, the OS configurations, how third party software is installed and configured, how CVBU applications are installed, and configures them.

Identifies appropriate commercial off the shelf (COTS) makes, models and components for each computer utilized.

Validates, verifies and documents COTS and how a system made up of the defined and available components meet specifications and is supportable.

Identifies, procures, validates and documents replacement components as manufacturers' components reach their natural end of life (EOL). This hardware validation of new and EOL replacement ultimately becomes the Device Master Record (DMR) for the configuration of a system that the System Test Group uses to test new builds and Purchasing buys and Production uses to build systems.

Creates system images (ghosts) that Production uses to create each component of a system.

Creates Production Work Instructions that specify how each component of a system is configured for shipment.

Creates the maintenance and troubleshooting documents for Service.

Serves as Tier 3 escalation for problems in the field.

Qualifications: BS in Computer Engineering/EE or equivalent and at least two years of related experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
CITRIX Database advanced knowledge, Senior Level Active Directory, architecture and server engineering/troubleshooting experience.
Experience in integrating leading edge technology into a production environment. Ability to translate a design idea into a repeatable process that is fully tested and documented. Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
