Job Description:
The Task Control Specialist supports the Systems Integration Team Lead in management tracking, coordination and administration activities for multiple government projects. This requires serving as the primary interface and point of contact within the Systems Integration Team for project coordination and reporting on technical and project issues. This position is responsible for formulating and enforcing work standards; assigning contractor schedules and milestones; reviewing work discrepancies; and communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to team members. The Task Control Specialist establishes and maintains technical reports in order to show progress to contract management and clients; maintains client contacts to ensure conformity to all contractual obligations; and ensures the development, maintenance, and implementation of project/work order management plans.

The Systems Integration Task Control Specialist must have a strong understanding of IT solutions and Systems architecture. The ability to communicate in a highly technical IT environment is critical to job responsibility accomplishment. WAN/LAN, Server Client, applications, GOTS/COTS, network management, software and hardware installation and implementation timelines, and technical engineering resource planning are some of the knowledge and experience necessary to fulfill this position’s requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Work with project members to complete Project Planning.
§ Manage project tasking ensuring they are completed on time and performed as planned.
§ Manage customer expectations ensuring task goals are being met on time.
§ Work with management and stakeholders during the execution of the project in terms of project and task control, progress reporting, quality assurance, risk management and escalation.
§ Develop and maintain best practices for task management implementation strategy.
§ Act as interface with the project sponsor to ensure customer satisfaction with the project delivery.
§ Coordinate the project tasks among the various functional groups.
§ Accountable for all task milestone and completion dates.
§ Develops, manages and tracks all project impacts.
§ Report risks and escalate as appropriate.
§ Consolidate sub project tasks and track the overall results.
§ Anticipate problems and take an active role in mitigation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, Masters Degree a plus.
§ A proven track record managing projects/tasks in a global IT environment.
§ Strong Team and task leadership skills required.
§ Excellent presentation, writing, and project management skills with ability to lead large services engagements.
§ PMI or PMP certification strongly desired.
§ 5 years experience with Project/Task Management techniques.
§ 3 years experience as an IT Project/Task Manager.
§ Candidate must have at least 3-5 years' experience managing application deployment projects and/or infrastructure projects.
§ Ability to multitask and track multiple projects concurrently.
§ Ability to use Microsoft Office suite applications.
§ Able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of MS Project.
§ Ability to work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope.
§ Strong understanding of cost, schedule, and quality constraints in complex IT projects.
§ Strong awareness of effective change management techniques and practices.
§ Ability to facilitate communication among various areas and groups.
§ Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues.
§ Exceptional collaborative, teaming and consensus building abilities, as well as proficiency in cross-discipline, cross-organization and cross project group cooperation.
§ Requires a mix of technical aptitude and strong business knowledge.
§ Strong background of hands on IT hardware and software including the ability to determine schedule durations for each task component
