System Engineer III

TransCore, a subsidiary of Roper Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team in Albuquerque, NM. 

 

Position Summary:

 

The Systems Engineer analyzes customer requirements for feasibility, cost and development effort.  The System Engineer will also design, develop and integrate hardware and system-level solutions for TransCore products that interface and interact with other TransCore systems and third party components. This professional will also have the skills and expertise in RF/RFID science to apply to real world transportation applications.  The Systems Engineer focuses on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle, documenting requirements, then proceeding with design, development, testing, and system implementation. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Provide day-to-day technical/design leadership and mentorship.Analyze customer requirements for feasibility, cost and development effort.Manage the test engineering effort.Coordinates with team members to define system objectives and prepares system design specifications to meet user requirements and to satisfy interface requirements.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

 Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering required.Minimum 3+ years experience with Systems, Hardware or Software design experience. Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills (in English) of software development specifications and procedures.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical software requirements and design documents written in English.  FPGA or DSP specification and verification experience required.Experience with test equipment, specifically oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.Understanding of electromagnetic fields, wave propagation, EM energy absorption and reflectionUnderstanding of statistics and statistical methods for analyzing test data and communication systems.Ability to manage test engineers, plan testing, and analyze test data. CAD/CAE experience:  ADS, Matlab, System View, EaglewareUnderstanding of communications system and circuits; receivers, modulators, demodulators, transmitters, encoders, decoders.Understanding of electromagnetic fields, wave propagation, EM energy absorption and reflection.Software design and requirements specification experience desired.Experience with RF communications, and/or RFID, are highly desired.
