Strategic Pricing Manager

GENERAL SUMMARYWorking within EMC's Global Business Operations unit this role will be to develop recommendations (founded on fact-based analysis) to senior executives. The recommendations will be largely around mitigating pricing problems and capitalizing on pricing opportunities. For example, dealing with mitigating gray market effects generated from international pricing policiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs highly complex analysis to project all aspects of company's financial performance. Acts as a Business Partner for assigned functional VPs, Directors and other Sr. Management providing specialized analysis to support decision-making processes. Designs and implements special financial analysis, i.e. business cases. Understand/study product functionality and attributes for assigned product lines and their value to customers. Work with Product Marketing to understand product objectives, pricing strategy and constraints. Determine level of risk to product pricing strategy and uncertainty around internal assumptions for capturing value. Make recommendations on product pricing to business lines and to EMC’s pricing committee. SKILLS/EDUCATION: MBA Engineering or technical undergraduate degree preferred Strong analytical skills, pricing analysis background preferred  IT industry experience preferred Experience in the finance arena is desirable, i.e. dealing with corporate numbers, margins, costs, profits, etc. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
