iGov has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer with a focus on network storage in Tampa, FL.  Responsibilities include:Perform hardware and software analysis to meet user requirements, design, installation, administration, troubleshooting and support of LAN operating systems, servers, and applications.Oversee development and implementation of system specifications, designs, integration, testing, and documentation.Engineer with provide storage engineering support for a tactical IT infrastructure (supporting special operations).  Develop risk management and mitigation strategy. Ensures compliance with QA standards.Conduct market research to identify products based on hardware and software specifications.Review and analyze complex task statements, standards, specifications, and other documentation to determine engineering requirements.Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.Perform system requirement analyses and specifications. Conceive system designs, perform modeling and trade-off studies, and prepare recommendations and system specifications.Establish test plans and determine appropriate test criteria and procedures. Provide cost analysis such as purchase cost, maintenance cost, and expendables.Conduct technical demonstrations. Look for and recommend engineering process improvements.

 

Education:

Bachelors degree in a technical field such as engineering or computer science. Experience may be substituted for formal education.

 

Required Skills:Windows server 2003, Windows XP, Virtual computing, networking, multi level security computing, PKI, Bata testing (Windows Vista), data backup and storage such as Veritas, EMC, SAN, NAS, and data encryptionAt least 8 years experience in engineering, development and administration of LAN operating systems, servers, and applications.At least 2 years experience as overall technical lead for development, operations, testing, integration, or fielding of complex systems. Good analytical skills with a research-oriented mindset (benchmarking, trade-off's, analysis, prototyping, etc.) preferred. Good knowledge of data security concepts would be preferable. An interest and experience in dealing with external vendors/suppliers. Must possess good communication skills.Cisco Certification and hands on Cisco work experience is a must have.
