Position Type: Permanent Location: Ashburn, VANumber of openings: 1 Job Summary: Position Description: The team provides OpenAFS support and development services for customers of various industry sectors and sizes. Our engineers are in direct contact with our customers’ technical staff, and work together in a strongly team-oriented manner. Engineers take ownership of support and development issues, and follow through from initiation to delivery. The Senior Windows Systems Developer will analyze customer problems, isolate causes, and develop fixes suitable to be included in OpenAFS. The Senior Windows Systems Developer may also be called upon to assist Sales in developing scopes for potential work, and validating time and task estimates for proposals. Position Category: Full-time salaried Position Responsibilities:   * Development of enhancements to OpenAFS for Windows, performed individually or on a team  * Resolution of support issues for OpenAFS for Windows in a timely manner and in accordance with industry best practices  * Participation in pager rotation (one week every 6-8 weeks) for acknowledgment and routing of trouble tickets for 24/7 support contracts (AFS and other service contracts)  * Support of sales team to determine customer needs and scope prospective projects  * Cooperation with customer technical staff  * Limited amount of travel (a maximum of 25%) Position Qualifications/Education/Requisite Experience:   * 2-5 years experience with Windows Server operating system software development, device driver and core code preferred. Application / web development is insufficient for this position.   * Highly proficient in C, C++  * Previous experience with complex software development projects and testing in highly distributed environment highly desirable (provide references)  * Bachelor Degree, or equivalent work experience  * Solid communication and team work skills (recent writing sample required)  * Self-directed, goal-oriented work style with disciplined habits and minimal need for supervision and project management  * Professionalism on all levels of interaction with colleagues and customers
