Position Summary
To design, develop and optimize device drivers, hardware abstraction layers and clustering infrastructure for application delivery networking.
Responsibilities Design and implement features and drivers for low-level platform support. Document software designs through use of functional specifications and other design documents. Research, investigate and define new areas of technology to enhance existing products or new product direction. Evaluate performance of products; tune, re-evaluate design and implementation of current source code. Conduct internal and external presentations.
Qualifications Bachelor degree in computer engineering or equivalent.. Five plus years professional experience in device drivers, kernel programming and other low-level software development in a variety of operating systems Development experience in FreeBSD or Linux kernel, especially in the network stack. Development experience in DMA/PCI-based high-performance device driver programming, profiling, and optimization. Development experience working with FPGAs or ASICs including device drivers, debugging techniques, and runtime diagnostics. Extensive background in TCP/IP networking and Unix based operating systems. Mastery of C and data structures. Fluency desired in C++, STL Knowledge and expertise in software engineering methodologies and effective unit testing. Proven ability to deliver products of the highest quality and on time. Ability to interact with users of the product. Experience with clustering, distributed systems, embedded Linux, Unix systems programming, event loops, asynchronous i/o.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Daily computer use in an office environment.
