Produces functional specifications and obtains customer approval. Acts as liaison between the customer and the development team to determine and deliver the most effective solution. Contributes to the design of systems and planning for systems testing and support. Functions as business knowledge base or systems expert. Acts as primary internal consultant on one or more major systems. Provides strategic focus on system solutions that may cross MST FOBs. May be responsible for driving multiple phases of a project to completion. Generally has significant experience in project management and business consulting, focusing on business application development. Possesses strong retail or data processing systems background or both. May serve in the MST Solutions Framework roles of Product Manager, Project Manager, Testing Advocate, or User Advocate. Candidate displays strong leadership qualities. Applies knowledge of industry best practices of business process. Leads effort to align Macy's business strategy with MST's enterprise system strategy. Leads the development of potential scope and release plan options based on business value and need, for large and extra-large projects; and can translate those needs and approaches at the appropriate level based on audience. Works proactively and with minimal direction to build relationships with senior level business partners, establishing goals and a shared vision. Stimulates the business partner, and internal team members, to think through requests, looking for opportunities to support or improve the business process. Thinks strategically, challenges the business partner to consider alternatives in the process based on business priorities, recognizes and communicates the broad implications to the business. Able to move business initiatives forward even when there is limited clarity on definition, timing or resources. Can effectively communicate with different levels of management or team members, displaying verbal agility in face-to-face situations. Key Accountabilities: 5+ years as a business analyst in a software development environment. Candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of the retail business process, calculations and data. Primary responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing business requirements and assisting in the translation to technical requirements. Individual will serve as a liaison between application development teams and business partners. Candidate must be able to rapidly learn the business processes in order to prioritize required software needs. In this role, the candidate will manage business partner expectations, promoting project communication between the development teams and the business partner(s). Assist business partners with definition and prioritization of business requirements, as well as determination of ROI. Candidate will be required to utilize his/her business background in retail and/or software development to contribute to system solutions. Must be able to work with multiple business partners, project teams and various applications. Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which requires multitasking and efficient time management. Will be required to initiate and participate in both strategic and conceptual discussions, as well as address detailed/tactical activities. Skills summary: A minimum of 2 WMS implementation. A minimum 2 years of advanced WMS experience (Red Prairie, Manhattan, Yantra, High Jump, EXE, Catalyst, etc). A minimum of 3 years with of WMS enabled process design experience. Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills for working with other members of project team. Broad understanding of fulfillment and distribution operations. Experience with integrated development environments. Experience working with third party applications. Experience and analysis to develop creative and innovative solutions. Strong oral and written communication with the ability to relay information to leadership team. Advanced communication and facilitation Skills. Research, present and/or make recommendations on function and technical issues. Ability to translate business requirements/processes into configuration and development specifications. Ability to travel up to 15 % per year. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Manhattans WMS (Open System or I-Series). B. S. in Computer Science, engineering, or similar discipline. 3 plus years consulting in complex Manhattan Associates platforms. Experience with Oracle RDBMS, UNIX, Sun Solaris and Intel is a plus. Strong software development background. Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task. Strong focus on leadership and customer satisfaction. Ability to learn new technologies. Knowledge and Skills: Excellent capability to develop effective working relationships with business partner(s). Excellent skills in translating business partner needs and issues into an FSG project. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Excellent negotiation and facilitation skills.
