Job Overview

Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI), a seasoned Federal Government contracting company is seeking a Sr. LAN Administrator/Network Engineer to join our Team. The position is located in Falls Church, VA and requires local travel to our field offices in MD and VA.

Network environment consists of the following:

Desktops/Clients: HW: Dell workstations and Dell/HP laptops. SW: Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista, Office 2003/2007, Visio 200x Project 200x, Symantec Ghost. Servers: HW: Dell PowerEdge. SW: Windows 2003/2008 Server, Exchange Server 2007, SQL Server 2005, IIS 6/ColdFusion, SharePoint 2007, Terminal Server, Deltek GCS, Impromptu and Time/Collection.Infrastructure: Multiple interconnected WAN sites and remote clients accessing networks via VPN. Cisco IOS version 12.4, Cisco PIX FWSM version 2.3; MPLS, Gold CAR and VOIP. Essential Functions & Job Duties:

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility to ensure optimum performance and availability of our network; including servers, desktops, and communications. Candidate will interact with the various vendors to request quotes and triage and manage support issues. An important aspect of this position is to maintain a highly effective network and to monitor and plan for needed capacity and technology upgrades.

In addition, he/she will be expected to stay current with technology, plan desktop and network upgrades, meet deadlines/goals, and present options to executive management. He/she will maintain and advance robust repeatable processes within the IT Department that are important for sound inventory and technology support practices. The chosen candidate will have a leadership position within the existing team but will "wear many hats" and must also be able to provide desktop support when needed and/or pitch in and work on other projects as needed. Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have 8-10 years overall experience. An equivalent combination of experience, education, and certifications may be considered. Individual must have significant experience with Windows 2003, Active Directory, MS Exchange Server 2007, Microsoft Office 2003/2007 products (including Outlook), Symantec BackupExec 12, Disaster Recovery, Network Security, and Asset Management. Candidates must also be knowledgeable of TCP/IP networks, WAN Technologies, and have experience with routers (CISCO), firewalls, MPLS, and VPN. Excellent troubleshooting, research, customer service, ability to work effectively with vendors, and teamwork skills are mandatory. US Citizenship is required. Selected applicants will be subject to a government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements and obtain a government-granted security clearance and/or access.

Desired Qualifications:

B.S. in Computer Science (or a related discipline). Leadership/supervisory experience. Experience working in a role to independently support a similar mid-sized or large company. Experience with Windows Mobile 6x and SharePoint 2007.
