Sr. Electrical Engineer
D4D Technologies: Founded in 2002 in Dallas TX, D4D Technologies is a high tech Medical Device company that develops in-vivo 3D scanners, 3D software, and integrated CAD/CAM systems. Lasers, custom optics, 3D Rendering, custom UI’s, real-time manipulation of gigabytes of 3D data, and robotics, are but a few technologies to be found in D4D Technologies’ first product, the E4D CAD/CAM restorative system for dentists. D4D Technologies is growing rapidly, and currently employs about 120 people. We are a well-funded pre-IPO firm with a close-knit R&D team looking to expand. We have several current projects and look forward to ramping up new designs as the current projects transition into production.
Position: We currently have an opening for a Sr. Electrical Engineer in R&D, reporting to the Director of Engineering.
Essential Functions:
· Work with R&D and Marketing to generate product performance specs from customer requirements.
· Develop system architecture, testing and troubleshooting methodologies, and product development processes.
· Design, analyze, integrate, verify, and maintain analog, digital and mixed signal hardware products.
· Design, analyze and trouble-shoot microcontroller based circuits
· Design, analyze and debug firmware written in C programming language targeting embedded microcontrollers
· Provide direction to Engineers and Technicians and clearly communicate their roles.
· Ensure products meet design, reliability, and quality requirements through analysis, simulation and measurements.
· Assist with reviews of Patent Disclosures and submissions of Patent Applications.
· Provide on-going Engineering support for revisions to existing products which improve reliability, yields, capacity, reduced cost, or improved/corrected functionality.
· Follow documented design controls which meet the requirements of the customer, QSR, and ISO9000.
Qualifications:
· BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
· 4-10 years of experience in electrical engineering design.
· Must have advanced knowledge of electrical engineering and design and be familiar with applicable Codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices.
· Must have experience with Electro-mechanical mechanisms and controls.
· Must be able to read and generate electronic schematics
· Familiarity with motion controllers, DC/AC Motor Drive Circuitry, and CCD cameras is desired.
· Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with other engineering disciplines, managers, manufacturing and support personnel.
· Able to effectively work on project teams consisting of departmental and/or cross-functional personnel
· Experience developing products with international agency compliance (FCC, UL, RoHS)
· Experience with medical devices a plus.
· Microcontroller firmware and FPGA HDL design experience is considered a plus.
