Sr. Consulting Engineer

We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Consulting Engineer to work in our Professional Services Organization.  The Sr. Consulting Engineer position is an accomplished technical job function within GTSI Professional Services.  The general job function is to provide technical services to our Federal Customers on complex projects and lead internal initiatives when required.  This position is viewed primarily as a highly skilled position for professionals who have at least 8 years of practical industry experience as an individual contributor.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical services in the form of design, assessment, analysis, and troubleshooting of IP-driven networks, systems and applications.
2. Serve as a project lead on technical deployments and customer engagements.
3. Provide pre-sales technical support to Manager, Sr. Manager or Director Professional Services Delivery and sales in the form of developing Level of Efforts (LOE's), providing presentations to clients and serving as a technical expert in client meetings.
4. Develop additional technical and professional skills through career-track curriculum and self-learning experiences.
5. Provide support and leadership on internal GTSI Professional Services initiatives such as process improvement, best practices, and research.
6. Contribution to GTSI Professional Services objectives for revenue attainment. 
7. Help identify and gain client commitment for billed work opportunities throughout the year.  Seek at least 70% billable time per month.
8. Support GTSI Manager, Sr. Manager or Director Professional Services Delivery in a pre-sales capacity to help sell GTSI Professional Services through new sales, add-on sales and lead generation.

Key Requirements:

- A Bachelor Degree and 8 years of experience or a minimum of 10 years equivalent industry experience in one of the following technical fields:  Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
- Candidate must have demonstrated outstanding and consistent technical skills in one of the following areas of GTSI Professional Services core competency:  voice over IP, TCP/IP internetworking, network security, wireless, and telecommunications.
- In addition to educational degrees, this position requires a minimum of two industry recognized certifications.  CCIE certification preferred or a minimum of two of the following (examples: CCDP, CCVP, CCSP, SCNA, Master ASE, CSE, NCSA, MCSE, VCP or equivalent).  Candidates holding one certification at time of hire will have 120 days to obtain their second certification.
- This position demonstrates strong demonstrated written and oral communications skills.  The candidate in this position must have demonstrated successes in a collaborative and partnering with clients.  Candidate must demonstrate ability to listen critically, think quantitatively, and develop solutions to client business issues.  Candidate must have a strong understanding of business fundamentals in accounting and finance, project management, and management.
- Candidate must have business expertise in at least one industry segment.
- Must have high-energy work ethic and be available to work non-standard hours during peak season times.
