Software Test Engineer - Temporary

Optivus is currently looking for an individual to join our team of professionals and assist us with our mission of saving lives through Proton Beam Therapy, using their skills and experience as a Software Test Engineer. This is a temporary position with the estimated duration of 6 to 12 months.
Job Summary:
Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to the requirements and conform to Optivus policies.Writes, revise, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program and product evaluation to attain quality of software economically and efficiently.Enters instructions into computer to test program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, between established standards.Documents program actions that do not meet test specifications and may recommend program improvements or corrections to software developers.Reviews new or modified programs, including documentation, diagram, an flow chart, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction.May evaluate track, and verify defects in software program.May develop automated testing capability for software or hardware systems.May write programs to create new procedures or modify existing procedures.May train software program users.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience in programming with C on Unix Systems (C required, C++ preferred) Must work well in a team environmentExcellent written and communication skills required
Education:
BS in computer related field or significant work or educational experience.Excellent oral and written skills required. The ideal candidates would have extensive experience with MS Office products and UNIX operating system.Relocation is not available for this position.
