Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer

Location: Charlottesville, VA 22902 Employment Type: Full Time, Employee Expected Duration: 1+ to 2 Years Assist with the design and execution of assigned product test plans.   Help establish, maintain, and distribute assigned product testing and defect metrics.   Execute project test plans and compile documented results.   Help setup and maintain testing hardware/software environments spanning multiple platforms.   Assist with the creation and maintenance of assigned product defect databases.   Assist in the planning and execution of automated testing.   Provide internal customers with project testing estimates as required.   Work closely with the Software Test Lab by providing project related documentation, training, etc.   Assist the Senior QA Analyst with the mentoring of junior members of the QA Team.   Provide hands-on testing support for product QA teams as required.    Daily Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:   Bachelors degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.   One to two years experience in software testing.   Experienced with Windows and Macintosh operating systems.   Excellent written and oral communication skills.   Strong analytical and technical skills.   Desire to be part of an agile software development team.   High level of energy, capable of generating enthusiasm and motivating others.   Excellent creative problem-solving ability.   Desired Experience:   Knowledge of agile development methodologies  XP, Scrum.   Experience with the following:   Linux, JavaScript, and Flash.   Automated Testing Tools such as QTP, LoadRunner.    Oracle (pl/sql) or other relational database.   Programming experience (object oriented languages).   Scripting languages.   MYSQL or other relational database.
