We have openings for a full-time Engineer with 0-2 yrs experience in embedded microprocessor product design, and an additional opening for a consultant/contractor or full-time Senior Engineer with 5-10 yrs experience in the field.

The first position requires an embedded software developer for hand-held OBDII instruments. OBDII is the standard automotive diagnostics interface used by passenger vehicle service technicians. For this position, you will be responsible for the development of new products based on the OBDII interface, using embedded microprocessors to communicate with the vehicle's powertrain control module. Knowledge and experience with top-tier passenger vehicle OEMs (Ford, GM, etc.) is a big plus. You will handle software development from the user interface through to low-level communications. You will work in a hands-on microprocessor lab environment where numerous products are developed each year for a diverse range of applications. Our products are currently based on ARM7, 9S12, Coldfire and PIC platforms. We develop these products for a leading performance parts manufacturer.

The second position requires a seasoned, experienced embedded hardware/software developer, who can independently handle product design from inception through production, while interacting with the inhouse team and clients as needed through the development cycle. You will have wide ranging embedded software experience, and detailed knowledge of standard interfaces such as USB, CAN, and JTAG. You will need a strong working knowledge of embedded architectures, and be able to successfully and smoothly bridge the gap between hardware and software. You should have strong working knowledge of FPGA design, especially embedded core and IP experience.

We are looking for extensive software as well as strong electronic hardware experience, and the ideal candidate will exhibit capabilities in both subjects. It is presumed that knowledge of current CAD/CAE tools can be demonstrated. We use Altera, Xilinx, IAR Systems, Cosmic, Metroworks, VisualStudio.NET, Solidworks, AutoCAD and other standard design tools.
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Computer Science, EE or related discipline• Experience with microprocessor-based products, development tools and techniques.• Extensive experience using PC's, including MS Office Tools: Word, Excel, Powerpoint• You must have an analytical mind, and the desire to understand problems at the detail level• You must be skilled in "drilling down" through device data sheets, programming manuals• You must be self-sufficient, requiring little supervision• You must be interested in pursuing a role in product development• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal• Read electronic and wiring schematics• Must be a self-starter!
• Comfortable with programming tools, IDE's, including MS Visual Studio .NET, COSMIC, IAR, CodeWarrior
OBDII Engineer:
• 0-2 years experience in programming embedded microprocessor products for OBDII engineer
• Recent graduates of accredited college/university are welcomed for this position.

Senior Engineer:
• 5-10 years experience in embedded microprocessor product development as consultant/contractor or senior-level Design Engineer
ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED
• Embedded microprocessor programming experience (ARM7, ARM9, Coldfire, 9S12, TMS470, PIC, etc.)
• Web application development, especially Java and MySQL, active content, secure communications
OBDII Engineer:
• Knowledge of embedded design for automotive applications, especially engine controls• Knowledge of Ford, GM, OBDII, CAN 2.0B, J1939, automotive network communications• MS Windows CE, Embedded Visual C++ tools
Senior Engineer
• CAN 2.0B, J1939, WinCE, GUI design
• TCP/IP, secure web applications
• CCD's, FPA's, imaging systems and applications
• USB drivers and embedded controllers, GigE network
• p1394a/b streaming video
• Proficient with Visual Studio .NET
• Aerospace industry experience is a big plus!
• VHDL/Verilog experience
