Software Engineer - Linux
JOB TITLE
Software Engineer
LOCATION
San Jose, CA 95110
DUTIES
- Perform design and development of software for disk based backup products focusing on deduplication, space management and replication functionality and their associated policies.
- Duties will include implementation of writing functional and design specifications, cross functional reviews, developing new features, enhancing existing ones and maintenance.
- Will be working closely with other development team members, service, marketing and possibly OEMs.
SKILLS
- BS CS/EE or equivalent, MS CS/EE with 10+ years total software engineering experience in one of the following UNIX platforms: Solaris, Linux, AIX, or HP-UX (Preferably Linux) is required.
- Direct experience in any of the following areas: file systems, TCP/IP, network programming, experience with NFS/CIFS protocols, device drivers and I/O subsystems is required.
- Strong knowledge in Linux kernel internals is a plus.
- Must have C/C++ programming experience, design/architecture skills, specification writing and ability to work independently in a small team environment. Experience with storage system development and technical leadership experience required. May require some travel.
TERMS / RATES
Long-term contract, possible contract-to-direct hire
