Software Engineer III (HD/DVR Firmware Engineer #2)

Manpower Professional’s Client, a Fortune 100 global leader in providing integrated communications solutions and embedded electronic solutions, is seeking a Software Engineer III in HORSHAM, PA. Experience Level - 7 - 10 Years The candidate will design and develop software tools to be used by firmware developers, configuration management personnel, and reliability engineering testers in support of digital settop software development, testing, and deployment. Job responsibilities for proposed tools include, but are not limited to: gather/develop requirements, generate use cases, prototype solutions, design, code, test, and provide end-user documentation and support. Enhancements and maintenance related to existing tools is also required. Examples of tools being created by the Tools team include: • Performance analysis tools • Debugging tools • Memory usage tools • Application/release build tools • Tools to increase organizational efficiency and productivity, e.g. reporting tools, automation/process tools Specific Knowledge/Skills • BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline • Excellent troubleshooting skills, able to quickly determine the root cause of complex technical problems • Proficient in relational database management systems (RDBMS), and database schema creation • Proficient in C++ / C, RTOS, real-time embedded systems • Proficient in Perl and Visual Basic Linux experience desired Settop box experience desired Java experience and ClearCase experience a plus Familiar with object oriented analysis & design methodologies Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well with other teams**************************************************************************************************** At Manpower, our mission is to serve as trusted advisors in the changing world of work.
