Position Summary:
The Storage Systems Engineer will be responsible for hands-on technical and pre-sales support working very closely with Account Managers to drive business related to AE’s Storage offerings within new and existing accounts in WI. This individual will also have responsibility for all technical activities regarding storage products. This includes the design, configuration and implementation of storage solutions.
Position Responsibilities:Provide engineering expertise in the pre and post sale stages Architect solutions across lines of business to solve customer business needsBuilds in-depth knowledge of clients' technical priorities, challenges and initiatives - maps those needs to AE’s core offerings and competencies Responsible for architecting and proposing (i.e. presentations) technology solutions, along with implementation of services, that meets customers' business and technical needs Responsible to ensure that proposed solutions when implemented meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer Oversee installation and implementation of assigned products including coordination of vendor participation Assist account managers with solution validation, proposal generation, quoting and developing account strategies Assist in the development of the Line of Business services and solution offerings. Research new technologies and market direction Builds value-added relationships within the domain of new or existing accounts to become the trusted technical advisor
Essential Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience Excellent written, verbal and customer presentation skillsMinimum 3 years enterprise storage experience, preferably with Hitachi Data SystemsHDS, EMC, IBM or HP enterprise storage experienceWorking experience with SAN and NAS architectureWorking experience with back-up and recovery software, tape technology Knowledge of Enterprise Unix systems a plusKnowledge in HP Unix virtualization technologies is a plusPreferred candidates will hold certification in HDS storagePreferred candidates will understand VMware VI3Preferred candidates will understand enterprise systems management software (Openview, Tivoli, BMC)Project Management experience Ability to work well in a dedicated team environment and provide structured thought leadershipSolid organizational and time management skillsSelf motivated to expand and develop personal and professional skillsAbility to manage and track critical deliverables to successful completionAbility to identify business requirements for enhancing practice development Flexibility to travel throughout the state of WI
Travel Requirements: Light travel throughout WI, occasional overnight stays required
