Senior Project Manager - Business Intelligence

Description:Job Summary:As a NetApp Senior IT Project Manager you are part of a team of professionals who plan, manage and deliver projects to meet defined deliverables, processes, and tools. As part of the Business Intelligence function you will work with business owners, data source application teams, Enterprise Data Warehouse teams, BI application teams, and BI architecture teams to ensure the successful implementation of NetApp's Enterprise Business Intelligence program. The successful candidate will operate in a cross-functional role and have specific expertise in the creation and leadership of governance councils, steering committees, and stewardship roles. As a senior professional, you will need excellent negotiation skills for driving cross-functional teams, proven project management experience, and process improvement skills to be successful in this role.Essential Functions: - Project Management: define and gain approval for project plans; track and manage the project implementation schedule; schedule and drive required team meetings; update website with relevant documentation and project status; and coordinate functional groups' responsibilities and deliverables in support of projects.- BI & Data Governance: assist in the definition of best practices for governance standards, procedures, processes, policies, and guidelines; drive and facilitate the establishment of critical governance bodies and roles; identify, document and drive adoption of business rules and definitions for metadata, key data elements, and hierarchies; and identify, prioritize, and resolve data governance issues.- Data quality: work closely with data source owners to define data quality standards and to coordinate the data management processes; identify, prioritize, and resolve data quality issues; drive root cause analysis for data defects; and contribute to Data Quality Knowledge Base. - Change Management: develop and deliver global communications plans to affected users and stakeholders; create training strategy and plan.Education and Experience: - A minimum of 12 years of experience is required, including 5+ years solid relevant experience in the areas of Business Intelligence and/or Data Management - A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business, or related field is required - Successful in partnering and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable solutions - Demonstrated ability to complete complex technical projectsQualifications:Requirements:- Strong written communication skills; outstanding interpersonal and oral communication skills.- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals.- Ability to conduct user workshops, define requirements, estimate, assess and plan projects, write use and business cases, and design workflow processes. - Experience in business process re-engineering methods.- Strong user of Microsoft Project and Visio.- Creative approach to problem solving.- Experience with project implementation in Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data Warehouse, or Data Management areas- Understanding of finance data and customer data is essential.
