Senior SQA Engineer - Tools/System Tester



Summary / Scope of position



We are looking to expand our QA team with a Senior QA Engineer who has expert Networking, Driver and  OS testing skills.  Candidate will be responsible for designing and developing  a comprehensive automated framework as well as test case development. 



Responsibilities include working closely with the development team in understanding and defining performance and system level test requirements and developing automation frameworks for feature, performance, stress and soak test scenarios in the area of processor features, IDE tests, and software development tools (Linux tool chain) and applications.

 

Essential functions  

Design and implement automation test harnesses; Generate and execute manual and automatic test cases;  Validate complex test scenarios to verify a variety of real world networking and performance related scenarios; Work with other QA engineers on design execution of test cases and automation framework; and Create test plans and test procedures from specs and requirements documents, build and enforce proper QA work process and methodology, and have the drive and ability to meet test objectives according to plan with quality.



Must be comfortable providing guidance on test verification being executed by other engineers – performing limited test verification for test automation validation.



The successful candidate will also work with off-shore engineering organizations to help train in proper test practices as well as to help triage initial bug arrivals.





Required Experience

7+ years experience in QA of system software related to networking equipment; Strong experience working with Linux-based open source tools and technologies; Expertise with networking analysis tools such as TCPdump, wireshark, RRDtool, netperf, TCP replay or similar open source utilities; Strong understanding of networking technology including protocols (TCP/IP); Some expertise with Ixia, or other traffic generation equipment; Good working knowledge of Linux and Linux utilities; Experience with testing of tool chains, API’s and SDK’s; Working knowledge of C/C++ and developing test programs both using & testing Eclipse/GNU compiler/debugger preferred; and Experience in testing of embedded operating systems is a plus.

  

Education / Experience requirements



Minimum of BSCS or BSEE or equivalent, or 7 to 10 years relevant working experience.
