Lottomatica is publicly traded on the Italian Stock Exchange (LTO), and in 2007, had approximately €1.7 billion in revenues and 5,900 employees in over 45 countries when combined with GTECH.THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION - 4-6 MONTH ASSIGNMENTOVERALL OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSEThe Design Manager is responsible for the management and art direction of graphic design/layout associated with various project within GTECH’s Marketing department. Generate high level concepts and design solutions that fit business needs. Develop these concepts in collaboration with other GTECH groups.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Art Direction of Marketing design and branding standards in support Company and Marketing objectives• Manage and coordinate the design process and the production of all documentation from design conception, project inception through to completion.• Delegate to two-member graphic design staff as appropriate• Offer design guidance and direction to Business Proposals as part of continuous proposal improvement initiatives • Make work assignments to and provide final approval (as appropriate) for two direct report Graphic Design professionals in Marketing Design Group• Responsible for professional development of Marketing Design Group staff• Assume overall responsibility for quality of all design work produced by Marketing Design Group• Manage work flow of Marketing Design Group and recommend alternative resources when demand exceeds resource capacity• Coordinate project design support for all of Marketing• Coordinates in-house production and outside vendor services relating to graphic design and printingRequirements: Position requirements:Bachelors' Degree preferred.Job Skill Requirements• Superior working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite• Thoroughness and detail oriented• Cross platform (PC/Mac) familiarity• Strong oral communication skills• Respect for the individual, consideration of differing view points, and interest in gaining consensus to achieve team goals.• Strong design skills• Strong type/color theory skills• Ability to communicate with management, clients and vendors• Experience with pre-press print design• Ability to multi-task• Ability to meet hard deadlinesOur progressive benefits package includes: domestic partner medical and dental benefits, vision, life insurance, 401(k), tuition reimbursement and an employee assistance program.GTECH is an equal opportunity employer.
