We are currently looking for a Sr. Accountant-Financial Reporting to join our Finance department in Skokie, IL.
JOB SUMMARY
The senior accountant works independently to perform assignments of an advanced nature which regularly include advanced analyses of important financial data. Key responsibilities include coordination of the month-end close process, monthly account reconciliation and analysis, review of staff reconciliations, monitoring of system coordination between Oracle GL and one or more of the following systems: Oracle Purchasing & Inventory, Oracle Projects, Oracle AR, and Oracle AP, review of staff monthly journal entries, preparation of monthly management reports, assisting with various ad hoc reports, and interacting with several other functional areas within the company. This position takes a lead role on projects and provides guidance and assistance to less experienced members in the department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare external and internal financial reports including monthly corporate financial statements, monthly reporting packages, quarterly financing reporting, annual audit report schedules and footnote disclosures in accordance with GAAP. Prepares monthly and ad-hoc management reports. Reviews and validates financial reports prepared by staff. Reconciliation of more complex balance sheet accounts, researching variances and providing analysis to Management. Reviews reconciliations prepared by less experienced staff and provides assistance to staff with conducting variance research, providing coaching and direction as needed. Review and update process documentation. Recommend and implement changes to enhance efficiency and establish internal controls. Assists with and leads special projects
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required Bachelors degree in Accounting, or other related major, required
EXPERIENCE: 5 or more years of related experience Experience with Oracle E-Business Financial systems preferred, but not required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:CPA a plus.
