SQL DBA

SUMMARY:

This senior level position is responsible for complex design, implementation, administration and maintenance of enterprise database applications in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.  Will work closely with other System Administrators and Application Administration personnel to support Enterprise SQL Server based applications.  As a senior member of the System Administration team this position will be responsible for the mentoring and training junior level staff and peers.

Responsible for satisfying company-wide Data Base information system needs.  This position will provide suggestions for the optimum organization of data that encompass Microsoft SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008, Windows 2000 / 2003 and wide range of applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Day to day operation and maintenance of all Enterprise Database platforms.

Responsible for designing and documenting technical requirements for enterprise business applications. 

Works independently on complex interrelated projects with a wide breadth of responsibility.  Specifically, this position will be responsible for providing architectural and technical team leadership for enterprise level applications.

Requires only high level coaching when interfacing with multiple IT groups and business units. 

Provides technical coaching to business functions and other administrators on complex issues.

Insure that proper backup procedures are accomplished to insure data recoverability.

Provide reporting assistance on a routine basis for specific projects or department managers.

Documentation of data acquisition requests through department forms and database.


 

Required Experience:
5-7 yrs Microsoft SQL Server administration 
5-7 yrs Transact-SQL Language
5-7 yrs Microsoft Windows Server administration
3-5 yrs Stored Procedure development
3-5 yrs Data Transformation Service (DTS) Package development
1-2 yrs SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
BA/BS or equivalent experience in related field

3-5 yrs Sharepoint/. NET Administration and Support
3-5 yrs Project  Management
3-5 yrs Data Warehousing
3-5 yrs Microsoft Analysis Services administration
3-5 yrs Data Transformation Services (DTS) / SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Desired experience includes Sharepoint/. NET and SQL application support. 

Strong sense of customer/solution ownership, an overall drive for excellence, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects to successful completion.
