Summary:
RF design engineer capable of specifying, testing and implementing various technologies such as WiFi, Z-Wave, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and 433MHz ASK/FSK transmitters and receivers into remote control products. Understands system architecture and specifications as well as available components and semiconductor technologies. Solid grasp of RF design methods, simulation tools, layout rules, testing techniques and instruments. Key contributor to system level architecture.
Requirements:
· Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of relevant RF design experience, or a Master degree and 5+ years experience.
· Ability to successfully specify, design and develop transceivers for high volume commercial or R&D applications.
· Ability to specify and integrate proven OEM RF transceiver modules into high volume commercial products.
· Prior experience should include leading a relevant design project, and optimizing radiated performance of a portable radio system
· Experience designing for low-cost, rapid development applications is preferred
· Proven ability to identify and overcome potential RF system issues
· Knowledge of WiFi, Zigby, Bluetooth and Z-Wave circuits, subsystems, and test equipment a plus.
· Strong RF subsystem, circuit analysis, and optimization skills and a commitment to driving all design details/issues to closure.
· Knowledge of antenna and electromagnetic theory and various antenna solutions
· Knowledge of measurement method of regulatory groups such as (FCC, CE, C-Tick, UL, etc.)
· Thorough understanding of digital and analog circuits a plus
· Ability to work in a team environment and to demonstrate leadership skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to prioritize, organize and multi task.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, test, optimize and integrate RF circuits into IR based remote controls.
· Identify and Integrate proven RF modules into high volume consumer products
· Verify that paper and actual designs have adequate design margins.
· Participate in high level system/architecture specification in order to understand how the system operates and how the RF’s own sub-system relates to the whole system.
· Drive primary antenna design configuration and provide potential alternatives that can efficiently be produced via high-volume manufacturing methods.
· Ensures that reliability requirements are met in the design: these include EMC, safety, manufacturability and thermal design aspects.
· Ensures designs meet regulatory requirements.
· Provides design procedures, tests, verification results, and necessary documentation to guarantee a successful handoff to the factory.
· Performs other related duties as needed.
Problem Solving:
· Works on complex issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
· Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
· Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
· Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.
