QA Engineer/Technician (hardware/firmware)







Description:




We are seeking a senior technician or engineer level person with a strong hardware background augmented with the ability to program in C/C++.




Duties include testing HF and UHF RFID modules through QA procedures to ensure compliance to product specification and customer requirements.




Creating test software, as required, to test both hardware modules and new firmware as it becomes available. Looks for new and innovative methods to test both hardware and firmware. Communicates findings to engineering group and QA team.




Responsible for the creation and distribution of test reports detailing work undertaken. Responsible for logging




Qualifications:




* Ability to create, follow and execute hardware and firmware test plans

* Familiarity in use and setup of RF test equipment, spectrum analyzer, power meter etc

* Strong hardware troubleshooting skills

* Experience in debugging firmware and/or in creating firmware for embedded systems

* Strong skills in C/C++ programming to write test programs and scripts for both in-house test equipment and customer use.

* Knowledge of windows, unix and linux operating systems

* Knowledge of SPI, TTL, I2C and RS232 interfaces

* A strong desire to get to the bottom of a problem and understand root cause

* A team player that likes to be involved with excellent communications skills (written and oral)

* Knowledge/experience of RF technologies a distinct advantage!




Desired Qualifications:




* Knowledge of circuit design and layout

* Familiarity with GPIB, VISA standards

*Knowledge of Labview and Microsoft.Net highly useful
