Production Specialist / Tape Processor

A large company in Pleasanton is seeking Production Specialists for the Data Center. Positions available are Wednesday- Saturday 6AM-5PM and Sunday - Wednesday 6AM-5PM.Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Production Specialist will be responsible for executing the steps necessary to restore and process data in various formats including tape and hard drive. The specialist will need to multitask efficiently and work with meticulous accuracy. The Specialist will be required to provide phone support for our Customer Hot line, initiate Service Tickets; route tickets to the appropriate group as well escalate issues to the next level of support. The Specialist will be required to monitor equipment, troubleshoot and correct basic issues. The candidate should be an experienced user of Windows Server 2000/2003, XP and Unix/Linux operating systems. Flexibility is the key component of a successful Production Specialist. The overall requirements of the Production Specialist include:   Data restoration and processing production. Be able to debug basic situations and escalate if necessary. Work and Communicate effectively with fellow team members and customers. Reliable work habits with excellent attendance. Ability to handle emotionally charged situations calmly. Willingness to work nights, weekends, and Holidays. Ability to follow direction in the form of Process Guidelines. Excellent Customer Service Skills Willing to work 10 hour shifts.Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Qualified candidates will be structured and team oriented.Requires data processing experience, reading and writing of basic technical documents.Requires customer interface via phone, email, and internet.Requires experience with Service Tracking Applications.*Must be US Citizen and able to pass a background security check Experience Must have 6 months to 1 year of experience as an operator.Must possess working knowledge of Windows Server 2000/2003.Must be an experienced Unix/Linux user.Experience with backup software such as ArcServe, TSM, or Legatto is a plus.
