We are looking for a Principal Embedded Software Architect to join our team and provide hands-on project/system level leadership for the company's embedded architecture, design & development efforts.
Responsibilities
· Serve as a hands-on technical contributor as a lead LMU architect for the LMU Development organization
· Own the overall architecture (Digital, RF, mechanical and embedded software and embedded DSP) for the LMU and other products developed and maintained by the LMU Development organization
· Mentor and train other engineers on how to implement the architecture
· Serve as a resource for others within the company who need your understanding and expertise
· Lead efforts in technical and architectural proposals and specifications
· Lead efforts in defining and developing LMU architecture, requirements, design documents, and project plan
· Collaborate with other engineers throughout the Development, Supply Chain, Field Engineering, and Test organizations to effectively identify and resolve technical issues and own driving these issues to closure
· Resolve or drive the resolution of PRs ensuring closure
· Define fixes for complicated bugs and make recommendations for major enhancements to resolve customer problems
· Lead medium to large features as a cross-functional feature team lead
· Effectively document and communicate architectural direction and technical solutions.
Qualifications
· 10+ years of experience in product development, developing sophisticated software defined radio technologies
· Significant experience in the architectural development of RF, Digital and embedded software systems
· 8+ years in a technical project leadership role
· Experience architecting signal processing systems like UMTS and CDMA2000 into FPGA's and DSP's
· 8 or more years in a technical leadership role
· Excellent leadership, people and communications skills
· Solid problem solving and analytic skills
· Organized and disciplined developer - self motivated
· Track record of project leadership, including estimation of schedules, and adherence to them
· Ability to lead and motivate in a team environment, including leading effective meetings
· Ability to mentor or coach other hardware engineers
· Architectural design/engineering skills and knowledge of hardware engineering methodologies and techniques
· Adept at leading communications with customers pertaining to complex technical concepts, product details, and problem discussion/resolution in a confident and professional manner
· Ability to draw on an expert level understanding of a broad number of different technologies, architectures, and implementation approaches to drive new hardware product developments
· M.S. required (Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent), PhD preferred
