Operations Technical Support

Assignment

Primary responsibilities include monitoring mainframe application processing, problem determination, and assisting second level personnel with resolution and root cause analysis. When necessary, the candidate will also assist with Job Scheduling issues. The position is the night shift rover, covering vacations, holidays, sick and heavy workload nights as required.

Primary Responsibilities

1) Monitor production mainframe environments for performance and system errors.

2) Monitor production mainframe environments for abends, performing problem analysis and restart options.

3) Assist application developers with application debugging.

4) Coordinate weekend maintenance activities.

5) Act as the rover for Tech Support on the night shift covering vacations, holidays, sick, and heavy workload nights.

Required General Skills

1) Stong customer service skills.

2) Experience with problem and/or incident management tools.

3) Experience with the Microsoft Common Office Environment including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Required Technical Skills

1) Operations-Technical Support - Expert with 4 year(s) experience.

Must have 4 years experience with JCL and mainframe application batch processing in a TSO/ISPF environment.

2) Production Data Center Operations experience - Expert with 5 year(s) experience.

5+ years in a production data center supporting 1000+ servers including mainframe, UNIX, and Windows environments.

3) Experience in Job Scheduling - Intermediate with 2 year(s) experience.

Knowledge in CA-7 job scheduling is required and Tivoli Workload Scheduler is desirable.

Preferred Technical Skills

1) Mainframe-CICS/Online Systems Support - Intermediate with 4 year(s) experience.

2) Operations-Data Center Facilities Support - Intermediate with 2 year(s) experience.
