Network and Systems Engineer
As a Veson Nautical Network and Systems Engineer you will support the development and deployment of new products by managing servers in an Active Directory environment. You will deploy, tune, and maintain the performance of web, application, and database servers, network and storage devices, and troubleshoot problems with networks and web services. You will specify, install, and maintain mid-sized office networking and security equipment (routers, gateways, firewalls, switches, VPN), and make recommendations for system and process changes. You will deploy and maintain ASP.Net web applications using Windows Server and IIS with traffic load balancing as well as Microsoft SQL Server databases with backup and automated fail-over. You will monitor and maintain our in-office VMWare ESXi installation and our in-office SAN. You may also be called upon to assist customers with installation of an enterprise level client/server application.

Requirements:
Education: BA/BS
5 years experience in systems administration
Broad knowledge of networking equipment, operating systems, and hardware
Relational database knowledge (MS SQL Server)
Familiarity with at least one scripting language, Python a plus
Critical thinking and decision-making skills
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desire to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
Reliable with a proactive, positive approach to work
Legal right to work in U.S.
