Network Manager

Job Description:
• Installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots hardware and software used throughout the network on devices such as Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, routers, and Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (firewall, VPN, IPS).
• Maintains LAN communications hardware and software interface to DoD GIG, installs network cards for all hardware, and maintains network software.
• Establishes and maintains network printers.
• Provides assistance to the DTC network manager, facilitates the Information Systems Coordinating Group (ISCG), prepares the ISCG 1-N hardware/software requirements list, provides technical support on all COTS software, conducts training class on a variety of hardware/software topics as required.
• Plans network upgrades and changes based on guidance from higher headquarters, and along information assurance and network security policy.
Requirements:
• Must be eligible for a Secret clearance through the US Government.
• Five (5) years experience supporting local area networks in a multi-platform environment, three (3) years of local area network administration experience, and two (2) years experience helpdesk support.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent highly desired.
• Possess progressive experience and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows server (2003 and newer) and workstation (XP and Vista) operating systems, along with a wide variety of application software.
• Experience planning, implementing, and troubleshooting TCP/IP-based protocols (SNMP, SSH), including securing such network devices following current guidance such as DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Educational Requirements: A four (4) year college degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred but not required.
