Network Administrator / IT Manager

 

Responsibilities

 

·  Provide information technology and system administration, analysis, testing and integration encompassing a number of information technology disciplines in a Windows, LINUX and ESX server environments.

·  Requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in  the following or related areas:

ü  Problem Management

ü  Systems available

ü  System administration

ü  Storage Area Networks (SANs)

ü  Network Attached Storage (NAS)

ü  Data management and backup systems management

ü  Network technology

ü  Computing systems integration.

·  Aid in the planning and implementation of the policies and procedures needed to support the network and server support services

·  Design, install, configure, implement, manage, troubleshoot and maintain our network and server hardware, software, operating systems and related hardware/software systems of the network and infrastructure systems and applications.

·  Develop working relationships with the client base to gather input and feedback regarding service levels.

·  Recommend, schedule and perform necessary maintenance activities.

·  Install and manage network security systems for LAN/WAN, VPN, VM and related systems.

·  Maintain network diagrams and installation records of software, licenses, equipment, service call history and other IT inventory.

·  Build, develop and manage all aspects of the network infrastructure environment including infrastructure services (Active Directory, email, DNS, HTTP and SQL) and WAN/LANWLAN, VPN, VM networking devices.

·  Perform and test system backup/recovery procedures on the servers and related equipment.  Manage IT resources and review daily and weekly backup operations, file capacity on all servers in production site and satellite locations; archive as necessary.  Maintain backup libraries.

·  Design and management of the Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure, including user accounts, permissions, etc.

·  Analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware, OS and applications software

·  Assess, test, project plans, document, estimate budgets and user impact reviews related to the rollout of new technologies.

·  Work to support and enhance existing services.

·  Define standards and develop solutions for relevant problems.

 

Qualifications

 

·  Knowledge to develop and apply design, testing techniques and system administration in a Windows Server environment, such as server virtualization (VMWare), and high availability systems.

·  Be part of a team to manage ESX farms and virtual environments.

·  Demonstrate technical creativity when new approaches are needed and excellent communications and troubleshooting skills.

·  In-depth knowledge of:

ü  Windows Server (2000/2003)

ü  Linux

ü  Virtualization particularly VMWare ESX

ü  Network topology

ü  SAN technology

ü  X86 hardware

·  Must work effectively with other technical teams operations, networking, and project managers.

·  Must be a team player and be able to multi-task under tight deadlines.

·  Proven ability for attention to detail and quality control is mandatory.

 

 

Education

 

·  Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.

·  In lieu of a degree, combination of education and 5+ years professional experience in client-server environment and system administration is required.
